The Big Story Approach to Life is about a new paradigm way of seeing Creation and one's place in it. The Big Story Approach includes a practical application for use in everyday life. It's neither religious nor "New Age," but it's very profound. It doesn't involve any dogma, do's or don'ts, or manipulation or control of oneself or others. It's simple, natural, and innocent.
The book serves three purposes:

- describes the basic principles and perspective of The Big Story Approach;
- tells how to apply these principles/perspective in everyday life;
- outlines a grassroots support system that everyone can use to help each other understand and apply the approach more effectively. A support system is an essential element because we can only interact directly with a relatively small number of people. If the BSA is to eventually serve a large audience, it must be self-sustaining.
